Main image | A single image of a subject, the face is big enough to stand out on the news-stand, and subject is making full eye contact. |

Coverlines | Are distributed around the main image without attracting too much attention from the main image. Mistakes are often made with cover lines that run over an image that has a lot of color changes. |
Main cover line | Very large, takes up almost a quarter of the magazine cover, comes in three layers, and each with different color. Positioned against the model's shoulder to show up clearly. |
Left third | vital for sales in shops where the magazine isn't shown full frontage. Title must be easily recognizable. The start of the masthead are short and easy to read cover lines. |
Bar code Selling line | Stander bar code Short and clear description of the main marketing point. |
